The California Alliance for Digital Equity (CADE) has taken a position on three key bills that either advance or block our digital equity priorities this year:
AB 470 (McKinnor) - OPPOSE: CADE opposes AB 470, which would allow AT&T to abandon its “Carrier of Last Resort” (COLR) commitment to providing basic telephone service to California residents.
AB 353 (Boerner) - SUPPORT: CADE supports the concept of AB 353, which establishes a requirement that companies providing broadband services in California must offer an affordable plan that meets minimum service standards to qualified low-income households.
AB 1271 (Bonta) - SUPPORT: CADE supports the Assemblymember’s authorship of AB 1271, which establishes much-needed consumer protections for internet access in California by requiring internet service providers to share reliable, transparent information about broadband pricing and speeds.
